Penstock is a closed conduit which carries huge volumes of water and any emergency situation can be threatening not only for the powerhouse but also for the habitat in vicinity. This marks the necessity for use of a reliable safety device, referred as Penstock Protection Valve (PPV).

We have been awarded with the electro-mechanical supply of Penstock Protection Valve and its associated equipment for Parnai Hydro Electric Project (3 x 12,500 KW). This is a Butterfly Valve of 2,000 mm diameter and is to be designed for a pressure of 7.1 Bars. The valve features a fixed type Service Seal and an Inflatable type Maintenance Seal.

The Scope of work includes Design, Manufacturing, Testing and Supply of Butterfly Valves of 2,000 mm diameter as Penstock Protection Valve including Upstream Pipe, Downstream Dismantling Joint, Bypass arrangement with hydraulically operated Bypass Valve, Foundation arrangement, Air Cum Anti Vacuum Valves, Control Equipments and associated accessories.
