FLOVEL proudly announces the commissioning of Beas Kund Top HEP (2 X 2.45 MW+10% COL) situated in Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh, India. Both units of 2.45 MW each were synchronized to the grid on 9^th September 2022.

Contract of the project was awarded by M/s Gopal Hydrogen Private Limited to FLOVEL in June 2020. Scope of works included design, manufacturing and supply of Horizontal Francis Turbines, main inlet valves, generators, transformers, switchyard equipment, complete electrical and mechanical balance of plant equipment on water to wire basis. Services included delivery of equipment up to project site and its erection, testing & commissioning.

The power house of Beas Kund Top Hydro Electric project is currently the Highest Altitude Power House in the state of Himachal Pradesh. It is located at an elevation of 2,840 m above mean sea level. Special consideration was given in designing the electro-mechanical equipment as the ambient temperature drops down to -20°C during extreme winters. The project area remains covered under snow for major portion of the year and therefore very limited time was available for transportation, erection and commissioning of the project. Despite of the harsh climatic conditions, the project has been timely completed with close coordination and support of the Customer. The Customer is extremely delighted with FLOVEL’s overall project management during entire project life cycle and also applauded the excellent performance of the machines.
