Thua Thien Hue Province, where Alin B2 is located, is identified as a significant area for the development of medium-size and small hydropower projects in the country’s National Electrical System Development Plan. Alin B2 Hydropower Joint Stock Company has been promoted as a major strategic investor in the province, having been granted the right to develop many hydropower projects. As part of its investment program, Alin B2 Hydropower Joint Stock Company had signed a contract with FLOVEL for supply of electro-mechanical equipment for Alin B2 Project on September 19, 2016 in Hue City.

The scope of supply includes design of equipment of the plant, manufacturing supply, installation, supervision and commissioning of the Vertical Francis Turbines, Main Inlet Valves, Generators, Main Transformers, Auxiliary Equipment, Indoor Electrical Equipment, Outdoor 110 kV Switchyard Equipment, as well as Control and Protection Systems.

It is worth mentioning that we had completed supplies in March 2018 and have achieved this feat after a prolonged wait of 10 to 12 months on account of Force Majeure condition that occurred at project site in November 2017. Heavy flood severely affected site execution activities as Civil constructions were collapsed, Runner & Shaft were washed away while some MIV components got badly damaged. Flood damage recovery process for equipment was very challenging but FLOVEL Team accomplished the job quickly and supplied the lost/damaged equipment ahead of schedule given by Alin B2 Hydropower Joint Stock Company.

Finally, Alin B2 HPP was commissioned and synchronized to the grid on April 24, 2019 and the plant is under commercial operation. Performance of FLOVEL and high quality of machinery was highly appreciated by Customer.
